The Moosehead Difference

The Moosehead Difference

We find with most of our customers that any endeavor into the log cabin building world is one of excitement and learning. At Moosehead we strive to provide our customers with the most complete log cabin package on the market at extremely competitive prices. In doing so there is a process that most customers go through when comparing log home packages that we encourage and love to assist in that I am going to detail out below for any reader interested.

Log Home Packages & Pricing

First and foremost the most important thing anyone should consider when looking at a log home package are the materials included and their quality. At Moosehead we provide the most premier Northern White Cedar on the market and it doesn’t stop there. When walking into our model log cabin in New York I love to show customers our living room and explain what comes directly from us in the space. What’s left over is basically the carpet, electrical fixtures and our furniture. Moosehead Cedar Log Homes supplies everything from the joists, subfloor, molding, trim, dimensional lumber, interior and exterior doors, windows (Anderson 400 series), logs, purlins, rafters, trusses, interior wall tongue and groove, ceiling tongue and groove, loft floor railing (interior and exterior), porches, decks, ceilings, closet doors, strapping, rigid foam insulation, shingles, hardware and the list goes on.

It’s important to compare what you are getting from each log home company and the quality of those materials involved. Ask the questions: is this enough to shell in my cabin? Does this meet code? What else will I need to finish my cabin?

Customization

At Moosehead one of the things we truly pride ourselves in is letting our customers alter and change plans to their heart's content. There is no additional charge for changing our plans and all of our customers do so. Whatever the materials involved is what the cost is at the end of the day. Additionally, we also let our customers change their materials packages as well. If you have a connection to get materials from a local source, or have a friend that can get you a deal on interior doors, we are more than happy to work with you in making sure your cabin is as affordable as possible.

Engineering

One of the most important things when building a cabin or any home for that matter, is engineering. Always take into account local building codes when working with any log home company. We’ve seen time and time again, other packages that don’t meet or beat local building codes for home owners and they are left with a pile of materials that while cheaper ends up costing them tens of thousands more to get the materials or correct the materials to build their cabin. Some of these issues vary from, simply missing materials required to build the cabin such as floor joists, the correct amount of purlins to meet the snow load for your area and more.

At Moosehead Cedar Log Homes we work to make sure your cabin will meet local building codes. This includes getting plans stamped by engineers approved for your state and assuring the cabin also meets local building requirements and other local codes such as RES checks.

Conclusion

From start to finish every employee at Moosehead is dedicated to creating a cabin and experience that will be unforgettable. From our skilled draftsmen, our local building connections, our dealers, or state of the art mill, or any of our other employees on staff we are dedicated to you and the process.

Now it’s time to make your dream a reality.
