Log Profiles and Sizes

D-Shaped

A staple of the log home world. The “D” in D-shaped is an classic design with a flat profile on the interior and a rounded profile on the exterior. The D shaped log comes in a range of size from 6”x6”,6”x8” 8”x6” and 8”x8”.
Double D

The Double D shape comes exactly as described, adding character to both the inside and outside of the home with D shaped curve on both sides.
Swedish Cope

The Swedish Cope is original log cabin log. This log design is fully rounded with a specialized notch on the bottom to settle the log beatufully and tightly on the cedar log row below it.
Bevel

The angled look is similar to the clapboard but of a larger pattern and creates a truly unique design.
Clapboard

The Clapboard is very similar to the Bevel with a angle design the has two drips edges per log instead of one. Clapboard is offered in a 6”x8” log and up.
Flat

The Flat design creates a more modern and cleaner look to your log home. This design is both flat on the inside and out.

The classic Butt & Pass is a standard of our cedar log cabins. Proudly display your classic cabin design with this intricate and rustic system.
Dovetail

The Dovetail demonstrates the level of craftsmanship Moosehead Cedar Log Homes maintains. This intricate design compliments the rustic feel with a more refined look.
Saddle Notch

Designed specifically for our Swedish Coped logs, the Saddle Notch elegantly captures the traditional log home look.
Interlocking

Utilizing our double tongue and groove log system, the Interlocking corners are similar to the Butt & Pass but differ in that they create a solid corner with no gaps.

Structural Log Style

Round

The round style purlins, rafters and structural wall logs is a classic and timeless look.
Rustic

If you’re going for that rustic cabin feel, our hand peeled purlins, rafter, and structural wall logs are must. Their raw log design is the perfect match to that traditional log cabin look.
Square

Creating a more modern and cleaner look, our square design compliments the cozy feel of your cedar log cabin with this contemporary square finish.

Roof Styles

Log Purlin

The purlin is a staple of the log home industry. This gable to gable design allows for beautiful solid log trusses throughout the cabin in both round and square styles.
Log Rafter

The rafter is also a design that comes from solid logs both in round and square that run from the soffit to the peak of the roof line.
Conventional

Any cabin can also be designed with traditional trusses in various styles such as traditional, scissor, and more. This will give you both vaulted and flattened ceilings and reduced build and construction prices.
